“Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team – the twelfth round of 2024 at Bang Kwang Central Prison, Nonthaburi Province

 

     In constructing national stability and happiness for all subjects, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn recognises the importance of providing quality health care for all Thais. Such aspiration has led to the initiation of mobile medical unit that travels with specialised doctors nationwide. Since the establishment in 2022, the project has provided cure for 12,769 cataract and dental patients in total.

     On 17th July 2024, the Crown Property Bureau collaborated with the Faculty of Dentistry of Chulalongkorn University and partner organisations in organising dental unit for 500 patients as part of “Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team – the twelfth round of 2024 at Bang Kwang Central Prison, Nonthaburi Province. Other project activities also included the provision of royally-bestowed artificial teeth for 73 patients and dental care kits for the Director-General of Department of Corrections. The aim of this dental unit was to offer inmates free and equal access to quality healthcare for the betterment of their livelihood. The activity was presided by H.E. Mr. Ampon Kittiampon, the Privy Counsellor and the Vice Chairman of the Project.

     On this occasion, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, the Lord Chamberlain of the Bureau of the Royal Household and the Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau, together with Police Colonel Thumnithi Wanichthanom, the Senior Deputy Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau and the Vice Chairman of the Project, were also present to inspect dental procedures and give support for all medical staff, volunteers as well as patients.
