With aims to creating a stable nation and happiness for all his subjects, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn emphasises on the provision of medical care and access to specialist doctors for Thai people. Such aspiration has led to the establishment of the mobile medical unit, consisting of eye surgery unit and dental unit, as part of “Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team which will travel to all regions nationwide. Since 2022, more than 8,600 patients have gained access to quality medical care from this project.
On 24th – 26th January 2024, the Crown Property Bureau collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University (Ramathibodi Hospital), volunteer ophthalmologists, volunteer dentists, the Crown Prince Fund student volunteers and partner organisations in organising eye surgery unit for 328 patients and dental unit for 620 patients (Total 948 patients) as part of “Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team – the second round of 2024 at Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
On 24th January 2024, the Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province presided to the opening ceremony of the project.
On 25th January 2024, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, the Lord Chamberlain of the Bureau of the Royal Household and the Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau, together with Police Colonel Thumnithi Wanichthanom, the Senior Deputy Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau and the Vice Chairman of the Project, were present to inspect medical procedures, give support for all volunteers as well as patients, and provide eyeglasses for cataract patients.
On 26th January 2024, H.E. Mr. Kasem Watanachai, the Privy Counsellor, the Board Member of the Crown Property Bureau and the Chairman of the Project, presided to the closing ceremony. On this day, he provided royally bestowed eyeglasses to post-surgery patients and inspected dental procedures.
