“Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team – the seventh round of 2024 at Phrachomklao Hospital, Phetchaburi Province

 

     In constructing national stability and happiness for all subjects, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn recognises the importance of providing quality health care for all Thais. Such aspiration has led to the initiation of mobile medical unit that travels with specialised doctors nationwide. Since the establishment in 2022, the project has provided cure for 11,026 cataract and dental patients in total.

    On 22nd – 24th May 2024, the Crown Property Bureau collaborated with the Faculty of Medicine of Mahidol University (Ramathibodi Hospital), volunteer ophthalmologists, volunteer dentists, the Crown Prince Fund student volunteers and partner organisations in organising eye surgery unit for 255 patients and dental service for 241 patients, totaling to 496 patients, as part of “Happy and Healthy Citizen” Project by the Royal Medical Team – the seventh round of 2024 at Phrachomklao Hospital, Phetchaburi Province. On this occasion, 13 patients who received treatment are tenants of the Crown Property Bureau.

    On 22nd May 2024, H.E. Mr. Kasem Watanachai, the Privy Counsellor, the Board Member of the Crown Property Bureau and the Chairman of the Project, presided to inspect and give support to the medical team as well as patients.
    Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, the Lord Chamberlain of the Bureau of the Royal Household and the Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau, together with Police Colonel Thumnithi Wanichthanom, the Senior Deputy Director-General of the Crown Property Bureau and the Vice Chairman of the Project, were also present to inspect medical procedures and give support for all volunteers as well as patients.

    On 24th May 2024, the Governor of Phetchaburi Province presided to the closing ceremony of the project and offered eyeglasses for patients.

    Formerly known as Phetchaburi Hospital, Phrachomklao Hospital was established in 1948 on a plot of land in ownership of the Crown Property Bureau near Phetchaburi Train Station. Later on 2nd March 1989, it was renamed “Phrachomklao Hospital, Phetchaburi Province”. Royally bestowed by His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the name was respectfully taken from the royal title of His Majesty King Phra Chomklao Chaoyuhua as the memorial for his tremendous contributions towards the nation.
